Braven Solar has been installing and servicing solar across Northern Illinois since 2021. Family-owned, independent, and solar-only. You buy the system rather than lease it, our own crew installs it, and we are still here when it needs service.
I have been in solar since 2016. Before Braven I worked for another installer, and for years I watched companies come into this market, sign homeowners and business owners onto terrible leases, charge absurd prices for ordinary systems, and promise things they knew they could not deliver.
The part most people don't see is what happens afterward. These agreements run fifteen years. If the system doesn't produce what it was sold to produce, or the SREC agreement isn't held up, the homeowner can end up owing real money back. They find that out years later, usually from somebody who isn't returning their calls.
I started Braven Solar to be the company those people can call. And to do new installs properly from the beginning, so the next fifteen years go the way the customer was told they would.

Our installers and our office are in Rockford, and every technician on your roof is a Braven employee. We do not subcontract the install.

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
We are not a roofing company with a solar division or an electrical contractor that added panels. New installations, service, inspections, and detach and reinstall. That is the entire list.
You buy the system, you own it, and you get the incentives. Leases and PPAs are how a lot of companies make the monthly number look good; they also mean somebody else owns the array on your roof.
Every technician on your roof is a Braven employee.
Certified across the inverter manufacturers: Enphase, Fronius, SMA and SolarEdge. If your installer is gone, that is exactly the call we want.
Roof too old, too much shade, usage too low, or a service that needs upgrading first. We would rather lose the job than sell you a system that disappoints you for twenty-five years.

25 years on the modules. 25 years on the installation. 12 years on the inverter. A 25-year leak-free guarantee on every penetration in a new Braven installation, and 12 years on every mounting point in a reinstall of somebody else's array.
That second number is lower on purpose. On a reinstall we are warranting our workmanship on a system whose history we inherited, and we would rather give you the real figure than a longer one we could argue our way out of later.
Twenty-one solar companies serving Illinois were listed out of business in 2025. The state maintains a separate list of vendors who could not finish what they started, and it had to create a restitution fund for their customers.
A twenty-five year warranty is worth exactly as much as the company behind it. We are a small, local, solar-only business that has been here since 2021 and intends to be here in 2046. That is the reason to buy from a local crew rather than a call centre.
